Supervised Night Hunting
I call it "Doot-Dooting" and it is what "Doot-Doots" do: they doot-doot. Their heads freeze and they remain perfectly still and then they adjust their heads in a jerking motion, jutting their bills toward the ground in the search for delectable critters crawling through the nighttime grass. I never let them forage alone, because pet ducks and geese need protection for predators. But on a nice night, I love sitting out in the yard with them as they rush about on their important missions to secure night crawlers.
